    Interesting TECHNICAL Internal Engine things

Well I am going through my High Performance Honda Builder's Handbook and I am looking at the engine information. One thing that has jumped to me is Connecting Rod length.
The A20's rod length is 137mm. The D16 and B18A share the same rod length. This would mean that you could get stronger aftermarket rods for our A20s. Or am I missing something??

    journal diameter

If it dont fit on the crank... it wont work

plus the rods can be longer or shorter... it will just stroke the engine

I don't know what the crank journal diameters are in the D16 and A20 engines, but if the A20's crank journal diameter is larger than the b16, you could have the b16s rods machined to fit the larger journals.

Some people in the Miata worls have done this so they don't have to pay ridiculous prices for aftermarkey rods. Just get a set of Civic rods and have 'em ground. It often winds up being much much cheaper than buying rods that were specifically made for the Miata.

Just a thought.. So longs as the A20's journals are larger than the D16's....
