    Trying to adjust door - @#$%^& !

Switching gear a little bit here. My driver door is sagging slightly and the door doesn't close smooth. I read up threads and trying to adjust the hindge.

First of all, there is no way a tool can be fitted in to loosen the hindge bolts without taking off the fender. I started taking off the fender bolts and they were rusted. I cannot take the top middle one off, the thread is bad from rusted and it just rotates. The bolt is loose and spin but will not come up.

So option 1 is out (adjusting the hindge). I thought maybe I can adjust the striker a little....

The two big philips screws are on crazy tight. I broke two philips head trying to loosen them.

    Any other ideas ?

l don't know about Hondas, but on Chevy trucks the hinge bushings wear out and allow the door to sag. Hinge pins and bushings are less than $10 each on eBay. Of course if you can't get the fender off, you may be stuck.

And for the strike plate screws, you need one of these:

I have been thinking about this tool after I posted. Was around HF earlier today with the wife and I chose to keep silent and keep driving.......

Out of curiosity, how are you trying to adjust the hinges?

I have been unable to get to the bolts of the hinges. I cannot take the fender off. I tried to tap the pin (the limit the excess swing) out but it still would not give enough room for any tools to get to the hinges.

The door only sag 1/8" (maybe even less) so its hitting the strike a little bit. But I'm unable to loosen the strike screws either.

I will try to sneak into HF to get the impact screw driver.......

l ask because they don't look adjustable to me. I think you're likely to make a mess if you try.

I pulled a few bolts from the lower fender and pulled it back a little to work on it. I had removed the mud flaps a few years prior.

Yup, the manual doesn't tell me where GND-12 ground location is. Also, Chilton has better schematic diagrams. FSM's schematic diagram is only spotty and hard to get a complete picture.

Download completed. I bet the author of this manual is a different person than the main FSM. GND-12 in the main FSM is G201 in the electrical manual.
