    1988 LX-i

Just got this blacked out beast and already got pulled over for 6% tint don't want to take it off but I know I have to. Will post pics when I can. Overall new to the car and have fixed some issues but still have a lot to go. It's an automatic unfortunately and would like to do an mt swap as soon as I can find one for decent price so if anyone knows somewhere let me know! Also after driving it around I will shift to park and the rpms will bounce between 1k-2k but the idle is steady any other time so any insight into that is appreciated

Welcome, yes 6% tint, that's pretty dark. Post pics when you can before you take it off.

I think we would all like to snatch up a spare manual...
I got an auto car to pull parts off of and I noticed a couple weeks ago the reman distributor did not have the vacuum advance hooked up inside the dizzy, it ran just like that, but I would suspect it is something else.

I think I found the problem but now I'm currently waiting for the part to come in so I can know for sure. It is missing the vacuum control box assembly so hopefully replacing it should be my fix. Not sure why previous owner would take this as it is fairly inexpensive but it does seem fine without it for the time being

Vacuum lines seem to be a mess, there isn't even a line going to the EGR valve. Pics of car incoming!

Yeah thats the famous "black box" delete that goes on here and the facebooks. They dont know how it works so they rip it out. they never tell you all the problems it creates and in the end they flip it on craigslist. Kinda sad.

That is a really nice car welcome to the forum.

Tbf it is a lot better without the black box... but being fuel injected, you usually need to go a bit farther than that for it to run right

Nice car. I'm surprised they got you for a tint. I want as much tint as I can get legally to help protect the plastics from the sun, since I don't have a garage or anything besides street parking.

I can't even find somebody who will tint my car, they're all scared of the curved back window.
