Sorry if this isnt the right place to post this.
Few months back, my a20 engine finally let go after a severe overheat, over the past several months, I have spent many hours restoring and upgrading the drivetrain in any way I can in the name of futureproofing and reliability as a daily driver. I am not building a race car, my build is primarily restoration and minor modification of all original systems. Im still using the original ECU and have left all emissions components intact. I have spent countless hours tracking down new OE parts, or cross-referencing part numbers to replace with modern equivalents. and finding several distributors that still sell some of the more obscure stuff.
few details to start off with, The longblock was rebuilt by a shop. everything else was done by me thanks to the knowledge i have acquired on this forum. I am so thankful for this amazing and invaluable resource.
I do Plan on doing write ups about everything ive done at some point. let me know if you have any requests.
heres what weve got to start off.... and this barely scratches the surface.
ceramic coated intake manifold
Red Wrinkle coated valve cover
refreshed wire harness and wrapped in Tessa 51036 tape
Bisimoto Cam gear (would you believe I found that in a junkyard car?)
thermo sensors from newer engines
rebuilt and painted manual transmission
Mishimoto radiator and fan shroud for a 1st Gen CRX
I even went as far as deep cleaning the engine bay, touched up any damaged paint with a brush, then used a spray on ceramic paint coating to bring back some shine
