How to test all lights in gauge cluster?

I just picked up an '87 LXi. The gauge cluster is quite dark. I am trying to find pics or videos that show what the lighting is supposed to look like. I guess some bulbs could just be out so I wanted to see how to test them. Do they all light up if they key is in the accessory position or is there a magic dance of some kind?

No they dont all light up when you turn the key on

Make sure your dash light dimmer is turned up all the way. Thats one of the three switches grouped together to the right of the steering wheel. One is the dash dimmer lights, one is the rear defogger, one is to pop the headlights.

-Most of the idiot lights turn on with the accessory key position, some bulbs are the same style so you could swap with a known working light to test.
-You can open each door to see the door ajar lights
-unplug a tail light to see the brake light warning
-unplug a headlight to see the headlight warning
-The other night lighting should be visible at night, the cluster is light up evenly, no dark spots anywhere.

Well I dunno about a legend but it was fun to do. True face my most viewed video is about how the Heat and Air buttons work.

I would check fuses first. My bulbs are original so I doubt all your are out.

Also there is a little hatch above the cluster you can take off for service. You see it thru your windshield.
