Distributor Vacuum Advance Question

I remember somebody (some time ago) replacing a Dual Diapham Vacuum Advance with a Single Diapham Vacuum Advance and then using a "Y" adapter to merge the two vacuum lines into one.

I went looking for the thread, but couldn't find it. I believe the thread had a part number for the single advance.

Does this ring a bell with anyone?

The one i bought from amazon is VC337 for tec distributor, and it looks exactly the same as the old one.

Why?

The vacuum system doesn't work like that. Do a vacuum delete and you can have a single diaphragm
