Ok lets do some weight reduction

ok list everything you know of that i could do to reduce the weight of my car, i have 3 weeks to get my car 1 whole second faster so i can beat this guy at the track.
i was thinking about removing all the tar shit under the carpet but i dont know much about doing that. is that shit pretty easy to get off?

    thanx

cut your trunck floor out... then take out every stereo ccomponent in the car.. all the seats except the driver... take the carpet out along with all the tar... get some 1986 prelude 13's.. they are sooooo light its hard to belive.. get the widest 13's you can find to fit the rims... and maybe get a weber.. that would be the best... then spray some NOS into the intake... it will give a small HP boost

but i think the WEBER and the carpet and seats gone should get you a second off... maybe get a cam

PS... what is your quarter time right now? and are you auto or 5 speed?

are you going for a full stripped out track only car? if so you can remove about everything thats not needed to safely drive it. hmm... mirriors, wipers, parts of the dash, interior panels, take out your spare tire that day. all the little stuff will add up.

You're not going to be able to take off enough weight to drop 1 sec in the 8th. An 1/8th mile time is about 2/3rds of what the car would run in the quarter. Shedding 100lbs wont net you much more then a 10th in the quarter. You're not going to find that much extra weight to remove.
