Question What brand subs should i get?

    I currently have the following:

    Pioneer DEH-P6400 Head Unit
Pair of Infinity Kappa 60M (6"rounds) in the back deck
Pair of Sony Xplod XS-HL533 5 1/4" in the front doors with tweets (mounted) on front dash.
    JBL P180.2 360w 2-Channel amp.

Im looking for a 12" Sub, either single or pair, that has SQ more than SPL.
    Thinking about a Cerwin-Vega Vega 12"
Your ideas would help out immensely.

I really like the Eclipse or planet audio subs but they are kinda pricey, i have rockford fosgates (the old ones) and they have pretty good SQ but i like JL also

My friend has trisonic subs, they make great bass and have good SQ and arent that pricey, but they generaly need more power then a 360W X 2 amp. Once I get a bigger amp and blow my jensen subs that is defineatly what I am getting. But thats just my opinion. Just make sure you dont get Sony subs, I have known too many people that bought those for the name and look and had to buy a new sub soon later.

go for the Eclipse Titaniums. they will only run you about $500 each. they are pretty good if you wanna shatter your windows and cause people to have heart failures.

audiobahn subs are prolly the best looking subs. i love it when they are in a bandbass box and you can see the magnets.

The W7 would shake my panels off. I know Accords, built without comprimise but man thats insane. Doesn't anyone like Vega Vega or Bosten Comp?

C'mon people, im not looking for SPL, a Vega Stroker, that would fry my amp and possibly something else. What is a good amp at a decent price that has thump but is more for SQ than SPL?

Vega Vegas are nice but you cant put more than the 400wrms rating to them or they tear spiders. Audiobahn is ok but overrated, if youre looking for spl then they are prolly your sub if youre looking for sq youll be dissapointed. Alpine type s and type R are excellent sounding and pretty loud. JL is the best sounding sub i can think of. Eclipse is up there too, their quality is excellent they are just expensive. Bostons are exclellent too but not that loud (sq sub). Yea stay away from sony, jensen, pioneer. Rockford fosgate makes great subs but the lower end ones suck ( punch Z's=horrible) Kicker comp VRs are excellent for the money but for what youre doing i think you should try Alpine or JL Audio.

ARC AUDIO subs have very good sq. i bought some today and they sound hella tight and clean and they work great in small sealed boxes. oh and they also dont need much power.

yeah those vegas are nice esp the strokers, i just wish the vega vegas could handle more power. Bostons are great SQ subs, kinda like JL audio. I think you should try the Alpine type R, i dont think you can beat the balance of sq and spl for the price. BTW if you do go alpine the type Es blow bigtime

I have a 12" JL Audio W3v2 D-4(Dual 4ohm voice coil). I think if I did it over I would go with the Alpine TypeR's. I've heard both with the same wattage and type of box with the reccomended internal volume and I like the Alpines better. You can get them for $115 at etronics.com. I got my JL for like 170 plus makin a box.

I like Cerwin Vegas, I used to have 2 15" CV based towers in my home theater and I still have a 6.5" component set from them. I wanna get a pair of their 15" dual voice coil subs. Best thing is they're cheap, $140 per.
