is this a good idea?

ok im looking to make my car alot faster,
right now my exaust setup is, pacesetter header and downpipe, into stock cat and stock piping back to resonated tip, no muffler or resonator. Ok so Hondas stock piping really sucks power right? so would it be a good idea to upgrade to a 2 and a half inch from the cat back with no muffler to a resonated tip? or would i loose some power doing this? because right now i have pretty good low end and top end but just not enough power like i would like.

I would just go to a muffler shop and get a custom 2.25" cat-back. I can't remember for sure but I thought I heard that if the pipe is too big that you will lose power. I think that if you get a straight pipe and a custom catback then a nice muffler then it'd be good.

I think unless you have a set up liek A20A1 then a 2.5 setup with no muffler would hurt more than help I agree with mike get 2.25 mandrel bent with a decent muffler one more for peformance than sound.

I can't say... you have a header which is good... you should really think about upgrading the carb....

for the exhaust think about a high flow cat... but I think you would be better off keeping the exhaust diameter the same all the way from the header collector pipe back, if that for some reason is smaller then 2.25 then go with 2.25 anyways.

the pacesetter down pipe is 2 inchs i think. so i should get 2 inch pipe from the cat back?

nope get the 2.25" I'm surprised pacesetter uses a 2" collector. I remember opening the stock exhaust pipe to find out it's actually a 2" pipe with the real 1.75" pipe inside... I guess it was their was to keep the heat down.

I had a 2.25" inch pipe before and then changed it to 2 1/2 inch pipe and it felt better at top end and sounds meaner too,so your not the only one A20

well, here is my plan. im doing it before the beginning of april so tell me if its bad. i have the dc headers 4-2-1. im paying an exhaust shop 300 - 320 for 2.5 inch piping from the header into a high flo cat into an hks hiper turbo muffler (i want the big one =P) and no resonator. i was thinking about doing it with 2.75 inch, but wasnt sure. i was thinking 2.75 would be better because i am dong even more major engine workin the next 6 months or so. and after that im gonna runa wet nos kit as well, so i figured do it right, right now so i dont have to pay more later on. tell me what youthink, thanks

when i said header i meant like after the complete header setup, afte both parts

umm.. go with a 2.75.. you have a cat so you need to fight the restrictions... i went with 2 inch to a stainless muffler... no cat, no res.. i think 2.25 would have been too big and it would kill low end... but if i was goin with NOS and P&P and shit... 2.25 would have been the best
