Tried some wheels on the 'lude

We went down to Les Schwab today to try some wheels on the Prelude. They had two sets we were interested in that were mounted on tires already.

The first was a set of black 17 inch Centerline RPM's. They are about 13 pounds each.
They really made the car look terrible. I don't mind black wheels as long as they have a big polished lip...these didn't. The design of the wheel wasn't right for the car either.

We also tried a set of 19 inch Quantum Tech S13's. I like the silver on the car but they were way too big. Even with the car all the way down, it looked too far off the ground. It wouldn't drop all the way down either.

So now we are going to start looking at some 18's for it. She really likes the ADR Sokudo in black but they are everywhere and we need something less common.

I guess I just need to keep looking.

(Sorry the pictures are so dark, we were behind a building so it didn't have enough light.)

I like the charcoal gray ones on the front in the first pic.

You could call it "Jack-O-Lantern Mobile."

i actually like them too, but it doesn't go with the plain look of the car (not saying your paint job is plain!) i just mean without any decals and blah blah, it just doesn't look right, the 2nd set is just a no go in my opinion, but at least u guys are on the right track, keep us updated!

The second set didnt look bad but i know what rim shopping is like and is a pain. I bought my Racing Hart C2's based on mostly price then looks since i was so paranoid about theft. I am gonna be looking for some white wheels when i paint my car (hoping for this summer but the turbo project is expensive). Im most likely gonna buy the Racing Hart 6 Spoke wheels (dont remember model) but they have a lip which i want. Good luck as it can be a pain especially with certain color paint and you have a tough color too.....Looks good as always.

oh my dear sweet shinky.. that car is just so... soo beautiful ::tear:: lol dude that paint job came out insane dude.. its weird how the half shadow thing makes it look even freakin cooler.. can i make love to it? :lol

imo the silver looks better.. but i think 17s are the perfect fit out opf the two.. although youre right 18s might just look better, or maybe try the 17's in the first pic in the silver as the 19's or maybe a gunmetal/light gunmetal... white rims would even look good on it too.. but its all up to you and your gf in the end

that car is one sexy lil thang....

Deffinatly go silver. chrome can almost be too much sometimes....i deffinatly like the way the silver looks with the orange though.....17's or 18's should look quite nice how much you looking at spending?

Christine is really pushing for this wheel. It looks ten times cooler in real life. The problem is that it only comes in 5 lug so I have been trying to figure out if there is any way to convert the car to five lug. The wheels are also about $450 each so that adds up pretty quick too. But she really wants them so I will see what I can do.
I think we need to get over paying for her paint job first. We are making a point of paying cash for everything this time so everything takes a little longer to do.

    Here you go:

i dont know the offset or the bolt pattern for your lude so i dont know if those will fit. Those were made by Chip Foose so of course they will be costly.

There isn't enough room for the adapters. These rims only come in 17x8 or 18x8 and wider and the Prelude doesn't have a ton of room to work with. I bet if I look around I can find something similar in 4 lug. Christine just likes the idea of never seeing another set on a car like hers because it is almost impossible.

Foose wheels are all for RWD cars. They only come if five, six or eight lug too so they are definitely out of the question. If I ever built a truck I would go with Foose though.

Wow, that is new to me. Thanks for the info. Last time I checked Foose they weren't available. I know Christine wanted the Foose wheels that were on the Speedster Thunderbird so maybe she will be interested in these.

Sounds like Christine has a big part in this decision. Thats awesome. I wish i could find a girl that cared about cars at least half as much as I do.

ive got alot more sites with wheels if you need them. just PM me anytime.

This is her car after all. She is almost as hard core as I am. I am not getting anything done to the wagon at all now. I want to have one show winner rather than two somewhat nice cars. My car has to stay usable anyway it is our daily driver until we buy a 4runner next year.
She actually wants to go to more shows this year than I do. I think there are too many for once. Usually there are about 4 shows a year but this year there are about 15. That is too much work for me.

Looks good Pearl. I say get some chrome, hehe. Foose are a nice wheel, I almost got some but wouldn't fit my TL. I think whatever Pearl goes with it will look good. You have good taste Chris. So just take your time and find what you and your girl like. Picking wheels is a nightmare, believe me, I know, lol!
