    anyone with 16's?

i have 16's without low profile tires on my 5th gen that is in the shop. im going to cut my springs on the 3 gee tomorrow and these rims are going on that. so im just wondering if someone would measure their tires for me. just so i know how much to cut off.

Wait wait wait, will 16's work from the 5th Gen to 3rd Gen? Correct me if I am wrong, but isnt the offset/pattern different?

    it's a universal 4 lug rim.
one of my 88 lx's is up for parts. good engine and transmission. pretty much everything is there. the fenders and hood are bad but other than that it's pretty good.

Yeah, if we had money, do you think we would be driving around 3g's? Granted, If I was rich I would have a 3g along with my other 10 cars.

im sorry. but if you had 30 grand in hand and you went to a car lot you would actually choose these cars over something else? something with after market support or like horse power numbers above 100?

well i wouldn't choose it if i didn't already own one, but since i do and i've grown so attached to it i would totally keep it. if i had never owned one i wouldn't have learned what a great car it was, so then i wouldn't want one.

    agreed.

Besides, just don't cut your springs. Your 15 year old struts might not like it

well i believe only 1 of them is the original. they must have replaced them one at a time over the years. and i cut the springs already and love it. the only problem now is tht the camber is off.

if I had that $$ right now, and no cars, and knowing what I know about the 3G, I would get one.

I'd get an '88 or '89 Coupe or Hatch in MINT condition with less then 80K on it. ..and I'd go as high as $5500 for it. Mainly this b/c It'd be one of the most reliable commuter cars available today.

Then I'd take the ~25G's and get myself another 90-92 300ZX TT in MINT condition with less then 50K on it. Or maybe even a 93-95. That'd run me about 20-23G's. After that, I'd take what I had left and cover about 6mo. of insurance.

i would light the 3 gee on fire and walk away. it is a complete lemon and pain in the ass.

mine has been a lemon, but yet i still love it. Granted if i had 30g i would probably buy some fast lil 4 door (cheaper insurance, oh yea)

insurance is cheaper if it's a 4 door? cause i got a 5th gen coupe that is only like a grand to insure a year. (in my mom's name)

i'm sure that just being an accord it wouldn't make much difference in insurance.
