Angry New amp has power but can't hear difference

Well, I just installed an amp I got from my friend in my 86 hatchback. Its only 100 watts but hey it was like 15 bucks and I like installing things. Anyways, I hooked up the power and ground with 12 gauge wire, hooked up the wire to the anntenna lead, and hooked up the RCA cables. But for some reason when I turn it up and unplug the amp I can't hear a difference. The amps power light is on but nothing happening. I was just wondering if anyone can help me, i'm getting quite frustrated. THANKYOU!

Are you sure the amp gains are turned up high enough? Also the power light might be on but did you hook up the remote wire correctly? Where did you put your ground? Usually under one of the rear shock tower nuts is a great ground. What kind of amp is it anyways?

Wow, I appreciate all of the help, you guys are awesome. Well i'm pretty sure I missed the step of hooking up the speakers. I was under the impression only the RCA cables were neccessary. I kinda figured that couldnt' be right, but give me a break if thats really stupid. I 'm new to audio. Its a rockford fosgate amp. I'm only using it to power the four 6.5's. No subs until I can afford a higher wattage amp.

SO...Do I just hook speaker wire from the speaker to the amp where it plugs in?

    THANKYOU!

Its a 100 watt Rockford Fosgate amp. But screw it, i'm just gonna find a 4-channel amp with more power. Then subs eventually. By the way, just curious, what is the other way to hook up an amp that they say gives worse quality sound?
    thanks

you can bridge it which would be the plus from one channel and the minus from another channel.

If I was to bridge it then all the power would go to the one speaker right. That would be good if I had maybe one sub, but I think I will just run maybe the two front speakers. Or the back, i'm not sure. I have really nice speakers in the front.thanks
