of a 3 gee? my 5th gen has an h22a but that's an easy swap. fairly inexpensive.
one of my 88 lx's is up for parts. good engine and transmission. pretty much everything is there. the fenders and hood are bad but other than that it's pretty good.
RIP my beutiful 5g coupe. May the villans rot in hell!
just do the search of this board. you will find a lot of info about H22.
Alex.
you will find a lot of info about how you are NOT going to put an h22 into a 3g... but maybe if you wanna go buy a 4g or 5g, or maybe those wierd little cars called preludes... thats the easiest way to get h22 !!! sorry
you can also do it in a civic, crx and 5th gen accord along with a bunch of other cars. i decided to go with a 5th gen accord since it was there, looked good, and was cheap, definatley worth it.

If you have enough knowledge to do any engine swap by yourself... you shouldn't have a problem doing an H22 swap. You won't find videos of it though. I have pictures if you're interested... just PM me.
The h22 swap HAS BEEN DONE. I don't know why everyone is so boo-hooish when someone asks if its possible. Its VERY possible and it HAS BEEN DONE MORE THAN ONCE! If I had the money for one, I'd be swapping it in right now.
Forgive my ignorance but I don't know much about the Honda engines.. is there a big advantage of an H22 asides from power? What is the rated HP & TQ?

The hell with an H22!! Go for the type-R!! Plus i have never seen an H22 3gee!! I have heard this & that! But the proof is in the pics!! Type-R all the way!

Not only are the stock figures impressive, that engine's good for at least 3 times the stock power with the right mods, not that you have $30000 to blow on your 3geez.Originally posted by Strahan

I haven't got a straight answer but I figure because its an aluminum block it could make the cars Front/Rear weight disribution closer to 50/50 and overall lighter (60/40 now), which I've heard is ideal, my theory at least. I have yet to be proven wrong cause I can't find weight figures on either engine. It might help handling a bit it's not really an advantage over a B-block because it is heavier. The displacement is an advantage though, as the saying goes,"There's no replacement for dispacement." More cc's =more potential power and more power from mods. Another theory I have is that the 3rd Gen accord would be the best Honda to put an H22a in because of how light it is. If the engine did not make it excessivley front heavy, like civics with the H22a, It might be that ideal balance between power and handling, since other cars like preludes that come with it are much heavier. Then again I could be all wrong, but I welcome anyone on the boards to disprove me with exact figures.
But hell I'm dead stubborn on getting a H22a and I'm gonna work my ass off till I have enough money! But that's another fuzzy figure, the price of fitting it in with all the custom fabrication. I've heard $8000+. Since no one on the boards has done it, and it is by no means a common swap, the actual price is yet to be seen.
Good Luck!

So why do u want an H22? u did not really give a reason..why an H22 is best engine to swap..just stated opinions!Originally posted by Morpheus

I'll take a type-R over H22..Originally posted by Morpheus

Type-R? U mean B18 integra type-r?

Type-R? U mean B18 integra type-r?
why
Type-R is an engine made for racing from factory! Unlike H22!! And if the H22 was so much better than the Type-r or GSR.. Why does it cost almost 3k less than the type -r! Not many ppl use that engine to race! This is a topic that has no sure answer. It's all based of preferences.Originally posted by 1988starter
why
But the accord type r has an h22
4th gen accords & up can only have those type of Engines F22. H22, ext.. The car is to heavy to be powered by anything else! and you know that! so why ask? We have an advantage that they don't have!! Our 3rd Gen Accords actually weigh less than Integra's so we can put B series engines in our cars! You can't do that with a 4gen and up! But again u knew that! :super:Originally posted by 1988starter
