    Exclamation Carb Intake Pics

Ok you guys I decided to make a pics section for carb intakes

This will make it easier for you and I to direct other members to Images of custom Intake.

For the moment this thread will be locked ... I will try and upload 1 pic from each memeber, but i have a few variations so I'm going to post some older intake pics of mine.

If you don't want your image shown let me know and I'll take it down... i did soem photo editing to clean up a few of the pics i got... I'm looking for a nice shot of the adapter and the intire intake unless you have a cold air setup. Try and make it as close as posible to get lots of detail... the images will end up cropped to 575X431 @ 72 pixles per inch.

I didn't build the short ram the first time around to get cold air...
I made it to help air flow... An extra large filter further down the pipe allows the air to straighten out before it goes to the carb. It would be nicer to fit up some sort of stack above the carb but It's hard to make one cause the top is so uneven.

Anyways the second time around I made a new intake so I could first test out a new manufacturing design for the carb adapter and second was to enlarge the intake to 2.5" so I could run it cold air piping of 2.5" - 3".
Instead of buying the needed parts I used the money for other things and really didn't see me needing the intake after it was made because I was running with the weber.

Mine does suck cold air. When idling the pipe gets a little cold while the engine bay gets hot. after 20-30 mins of driving the pipe and housing are frosty cold so its working. I got it as close as I could to the gap around the drive axle.

the housing on the carb is from a 89-91 fuel injected civic. It sits on or is part of the throttle body. Best place is the junkyard. The outlet is 2.5 inches. You can make your own intake to fit or buy a civic intake pipe and filter from an autoparts store. Some or large and make sure they come with an adapter to match the diameters (or get your own). Check out the other sticky that says something like "carb intake...mod"

Buy a Weber!!! And then get the setup that I have

I like mine b/c I have a hood scoop right above that custom plexi glass box That will get you Cold Ram Air. I'm thinking about getting another hoodscoop but not have it running into the intake like the one I have. It would just serve as a engine cooler.

I just saw a 2001 celica with 5 hood scoops... it was wacky...
get a vent... vents work a lot better since hot air rises.
I can't wait to get my fiberglass vent.

Well I will soon get a CF hood after this summer. So I think I will need to find a CF hoodscoop also. That would be sweet to have hood vents in the front of the hood and then have a hoodscoop in the back but the middle.

it becomes useless because there will no longer be a trap door to direct suction to it. You can leave it there and stuff it or remove the line and somehow shut it at the header.

Thats the air suction tube... it's part of emisions controls. You can unplug the vacuum line from the diaphragm and then unhook the plastic pipe.

If you are talking about the one that comes from the valve cover then its the breather. Part of the PCV system. Put a filter on the valve cover or hook up a hose to the civic adapter.

If you are talking about the plastic 3-finger then thats the silencer for the air suction. You wont need it. Just unhook and plug the vacuum line going to the air suction diagphram so that you dont get the loud bubbling sound. Its annoying.
