    make it quiet

i need to quiet down my exhaust by wednesday of next week. i was pulled over for having a loud exhaust.

i am thinkin that a hi flo cat will quiet my car down signifigantly. is this fact? i need to know from someone that has pulled just the cat off to see if its louder. right now i have

headers, a 2 inch pipe to the muffler with no cat or resonator.

if the cat wont do it enuff... i will put my old cherry bomb inline... that will make a difference as well

So it was defected cause it was too loud huh? that happen to a friend of mine too, (Australia). Over here they fine u $200 AUS ($100 US) and they tell u to take it off within a week or else its $1000 u.s fine. So u can go to the any exhaust place, ask them to fit this thing where u can switch exhaust on ur own using like 2 bolts or something, like put back the standard exhaust. So after u get it checked by the police or what ever, and its all clear, go home and take the bolts off and switch back to ur loud exhaust.

i might also do that... get a flange made for the muffler and get a quiet muffler for long trips and inspection... that will be around the same cost... but i think they will want to look under the car to check for a cat... i think ill just add the cat and the cherry bomb...and take the silencer out after i get it checked

Its prolly your Bomb muffler, those are pretty loud. Anything that restricts the exhaust will quiet it.

a cat will be quieter than a straight pipe. A resonator will also help.

if you like that type of exhaust search on ebay for "n1 style exhaust" or "fireball style exhaust" that will give you a few more choices.
