When I run anything that sucks up power
IE. Headlights, Amp, etc etc
I can hear my alternator making a heavier clicking noise and the RPMs drop...
Is it normal for it to just make the noise with a heavier load
If I rev it back up to 1,000rpm it sounds fine
no,it's not normal............first check to make sure the mounts are nice and tight,....if so,.maybe loosen the alt. and see how much sideways movement on pulley shaft,..it could be a worn bearing inside alt.
what is teh alternator out put ( @ the battery ) when idling and everything off ! it sould be 14.5 V !
