should i rip the hot air inducion?

i've been planning to build some nice air intake to my aerodeck -86 (A20A2 - carb), but i can't decide which one. i live in a place where it's about -25C in winter and +25C in summer.
after thinking/reading about various intakes, i guess the easiest way would be to wipe away the airbox, hot air induction pipe etc. and replace it with a short ram intake + perf. filter.
imo it would kick ass especially when it's -30C outside in winter, like CAI + SR :smokin:
but... i've been talking to some ppl, who think i should forget about it, cuz hot air induction would be vital in winter, besides it takes rather long to warm up the motor and gas mileage would be way too low.

I don't know what to think...should i rip the damn "hot air intake" or is it really neccessary/reccomended in winter? or is the only way for me to cut the sides of the airbox?

Any advice/experience from u guys would be helpful

the carb is heated by a pre heater under the carb and the coolant that runs through the intake is also heating it up a bit

so a intake wont be that bad in the winter
