car auctions

i've thought about at least checking out the car auctions. i know a place that has them, just don't know when. they mostly auction repos and seized vehicles. what experiences do you guys have with auctions? what should you stay away from; i.e. seized(drug runners) that sort? mmmmmm crush a hydrocodone and drop in my soda, an hour later yeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhh maaaannn. :lol

what kind of auction is it? is it one that is open to the public, or one for dealers only? I have been to several dealer only auctions, you would be very suprised at how much some cars go for.
