you can get dynamat or an equal sound damping material. but that costs too damn much. so go to your local hardware store and find any asphault based sealant. its will do the exact same thing and it cost alot less.

All that I have are 6.5" Infinity speakers and my trunk rattles. I don't notice it that much, but when you are outside it will drive you crazy. I could only imagine how bad it will be with two 6x9 and a 15" sub that I'm going to put in. I will do anything to stop that damn trunk from rattling.
i have 6 cans of spray foam in my trunk lid and back deck area, and it worked pretty good for the lid and surrounding area but the back deck moves like a mofo still... i havent figured it out yet.

Where do you get this spray foam stuff at, and how much does it costs?
i went out and bought a roll of foam window sealer at home depot and put it around my taillights and license holder and that stopped a majority of the noise. also make sure everything is bolted down as tight as it will go
86 white hatch LXi with 5spd swap and full system.
go get great stuff at any hardware store, just tell them youre looking for spray foam (expanding foam) its like $4 a can but it works great, just dont spill any on your carpet (itll never come out..., its messy stuff)

spray foam? what is it? does it stop all the rattling? what color is it? sorry for all the questions, its just i have two infinity 6x9s too that rattle more than a 1000w system does in other cars.
88 Accord Lx-i
Pioneer DEH-7400MP
Infinity Kappa speakers all around
new headlamps...hehe
It's used for insulation in houses. It works great in our cars. It insulates sound well, as well as rattling. It's a yellowish color.
I'm should try some of this spray foam in my car. I probably will be getting a 15" sub put in my trunk, if it dosen't cost be too much. I need to start really saving up for an engine
I'm your local R&D nut. Fabracting, welding, tuning and breaking my stuff so you don't have to.
well, if i put the system up all the way and play a 33hz tone the entire f'n car rattles, but if i sit on the trunk the rattles dont get much better, so id say the spray foam is doing its job well. It makes my car rattle less than a kid with a cavalier with dynamat extreme

For how cheap that expanding foam is it sounds like it is a much better deal then getting Dynamat.

In my 85 accord I used the water resistant like tar paper for roofs (houses of course) it is just like dynomat but much cheaper however for my 89 I am going to try and use thr roll on bed liner afer filling the holes with foam since u can get it in many colors it should work I'll update later and let u know how it goes
Y in a world of free speach are there phone bills??
If u find your self in a hole the first thing to do is stop digging
yeah i hear that works but ive never seen it done, Ive had great sucess with silicone. I actually siliconed my back lights into the trunk decklid and it helped but i used white... it looks like shit currently but it keeps my trunk a little quieter and alot more watertight, i kept having my spare tire well fill up with water and after i siliconed it no more water... go figure

I had the same problem i have one 15 rockford hx2 and i run 1000 rms to it and it use to rattle like crazy. But i went the cheap bootleg way and used roofing type but it worked and theres no rattling now
the only thing about using cheap soundproofing stuff is its usually more of a hassle to install, either messy or otherwise difficult to work with.
