Thread: Rebuilding Carb today...

    Angry Rebuilding Carb today...

Damn float finally stuck solid in some location, can't tell where. The thing won't idle all of a sudden, and just runs like total shit unless you are hitting the throttle. I cranked up the idle screw to keep it running, man it's bad.

Getting kit and new float today. Rebuilding today. Have to be at work tomorrow. I will be taking video of the process if anyone is really that interested. Waiting on my wife to get home to help, and the parts store gets the parts at 1PM or possibly 4PM.

I hope this works, I can't afford anything else.

    Me.

check for any vacuum leak. if there is a leak than you will have bad idle.

my car idles fine sometimes and won't have it other times. sometimes it idles at 1200 sometimes at 750. could it be the same problem?
one of my 88 lx's is up for parts. good engine and transmission. pretty much everything is there. the fenders and hood are bad but other than that it's pretty good.

RIP my beutiful 5g coupe. May the villans rot in hell!

    Stuck choke.

You may not be letting it warm up until the temp guage is well above cold. If you do that, then take off, I've found all my carb problems go away, even though they are still there.

Just FYI, I will probably know today if I will be needing that carb. Sorry for the delays, and for stringing you along if that is what happens. I didn't want to rebuild this carb this soon this way.

It's cool. Dont worry about it. At least you're honest, unlike others on here.
