it is possible. either way if u want to do a b20b/z block in ur crx. regardless of which b20 block u want to use, u HAVE to use a b18 head anyways. it is becuz ive already done a few swaps for crx's and 90 civics and u CANNOT use a b20 head. it is TOO big. the b20 head will hit the hood and sit too high. that's y all the guys who go b20 in their crx's or 90 civics and even 90-93 integras use b18 heads to make room. but that b18 carb head will fit jus fine. jus remember that all vtec heads r interchangable with other vtec blocks. same goes with the nonvtecs. a friend of mine recently did a b20a with a b18b head on it. worked out fine. that motor fully built, port polish with the whole jg valve train using 301 cams, using 11.5comp pistons, eagle rods, chipped ecu, did 15.3 on the quarter mile with street tires.

the reason i don't wanna go efi is that i like simplicity and hate messing with computers, yes i know i might not have as much power potential but carbs are fun!
hey thanks wickedaccord so its possible correct?
i was just wondering have you ever done a carb'd b18 head on the b 20 though cause it sounds like you done the fuel injection.
and when i refer to a jdm b18a head i mean one from a 2g lude or 3g accord cause well they're carb'd...thanks for the feedback hope you can answer this one

thanks, but ive never delt with a carbed head on a b20 before. jus becuz all the guys who wants swap.. u know do efi's. but i know wat u mean about the carbed head. keeping it simple is the best way to do it. and if ur gonna do it, do it right the first time. to be honest, the carb swap to another carb engine should be a lot easier to do than from a efi engine to another efi engine. it's like u said, dealing with ecu's isnt really fun if u dont know wat ur doing. good luck with ur swap. late

Carbs, so primitive. May as well throw in a new set of pushrods, and a mechanical water pump to complete the effect :P

yes i understand what you are and almost everyone i run into are saying i do not blame you for feeling that way but i'm not going to way back with a hand crank start or anything i just prefer carb i am thinking this can be done because since i have found out on ludespeed.com that a gsr head on a b20 90 prelude block swap has been successful considering how they were completely different engines except for the fact that they're both b series and yet the swap was carried out successfully than why not a carb head on a crv b20 block? if they could mate a gsr b18c head on a b20 prelude block then why can't a b18a head be mated on a crv b20?
