Sorry lame question. The reason I ask is that the most fuel I've ever put in at one time was 12.??? gal. I figured I was almost empty (my gas gauge agreed with me). But 86AccordLXI says I'm crazy and that it holds like 16 gallons. So anyone with an owners manual please help me settle this. If the tank really holds 16 gallons. Do we know of anyone who can recalibrate gauges? Looks like mine could be wrong?

15.9 gallons from the owners manual. The gas light comes on when there is 2 gallons left in the tank. Try running the car till that light comes on.

wow, i thought it was 12 too. are u sure it doesn't vary from model to model? it would be weird if it did, but it would make sense then why i'm always at about 12 gallons when fill up. i'll have to run to the light this time.

When I ran completely out of gas (right next to a gas pump) it was only about 14 gallons to fill it up. I thought it was only 12 too until that happened.
Its like washing your hands before you wipe your ass, its pointless...

This depends on the condition of the car and some other stuff. If the car is "healthy" then it should get good gas mileage. What I mean by healthy is that it's well taken care of and it is close to being stock or stock. Having a header and an exhaust system will lower the gas-mileage. how much does a 88 accord LX-i accord hold? When I fill up my tank my gas gauge does not go all the way up to the f and I am wondering if it is the same for the e if it will go past the e because it did not go to the f all the way. I just got done breaking my dist. I was taking of my screw for my dist. and it snapped off so now I have a vis grip holding the top of it on...
