Making a business for car parts online!!!

Hey guys, my brother and I are going to be starting a business and well will have suppliers from a lot of companies. First off we don't have a name yet. We want to specialize in imports and trucks. And I told him that we will need to get some universal stuff too. I was wondering when we get this setup if I would be able to have a banner or link like nate did with his sticker company. I told my brother that we need to try and get companies to make some parts for 3GEEZ so it would be good for everyone. Any suggestions for names would be helpful. Thanks for everything.

Well he told me today that I need to think of a name and pay some money to get a lawyer and we will get suppliers soon. AEM and a bunch of other companies. I don't really want to have a name with one of our names in it. Any companies that you guys suggest we get for suppliers?

Hey my brother and I are going to try and get companies to make more parts for our 3GEEZ and we need some suggestions for various parts. I thought of tail lights for sedans and hatches. Any suggestions would be helpful b/c what we'll do is talk with these companies and find out how many people will do a big group buy and tell them that amount and hopefully they'll say yes if they don't we'll just go to another company and ask.

Setting up group buys is different then an Online store...

If you want to go online then I suggest you look around at other forums on the internet and see what the current trend is, you'll have to supply mainly universal products. Some companies will ship a product with your name on it... like mufflers and headers, provided you give them the design specs.
If you are marketing for the 3rd gen, you can use your car as the product display car.

If you think you can get your hands on 10 cam cores... you can do 4 different regrinds at a cheap price. 3 - Mild level 1 grinds / 3 - Mild level 2 grinds / 3 Mild level 3 grinds / 1 Wild Racing grind.

Then you can sell those for a slight profit. I'm not too sure on the levels of grinds.. I was just making that up but you get the Idea.
    anyways have fun.

You are on the right track selling online so you can avoid the shop overhead. Most startups of this type with shops go under in 3-6 months, at least around here. On the other hand that can screw you with some companies that sell only to established storefront shops. Also make sure you start the business in the proper class; i.e. make sure it's something that doesn't attach liability to the owners directly. I mistakenly setup my car audio venture as a sole proprietorship which I found out later means they could sue me directly if I screwed up a customer's car. I'm an LLC now

    Good luck!

I would be very careful, this is a heavily saturated market.

Well my brother and I are taking the proper steps to get this started. We're getting a lawyer for all the legal things so we won't be screwed. And A20A1 I wanted to get some more parts made for our 3GEEZ so I would talk to a company and say hey I have 20 people that want to buy this part for sure right now and ask if they will make it. That's the only reason I would need to setup a group buy. And I told my brother that we'd need to have a lot of universal parts b/c then it would apply to everyone. Like electronics, tachs, mufflers, interior stuff, and exterior stuff. I had some people back out on things I was selling from my parts in my basement so it will be a little while before I come up with my half of the money. So if anyone wants to buy some stuff from me so I can get my business started that would be nice. I just posted everything I have for sale on the Just Got My Delta Cam thread. PM me for prices. Everything I sell will go to the business and eventually come back to the 3GEEZ site b/c I'm trying to expand the parts we can buy.
