My friends 93 civic EX died while he was driving down the road. It started struggling, and then the car just kept like restarting itself, then just died. Belts and battery are fine. What gives?

Didn't those Civics have the same ignition problem with the distributors that the 4th gen Accords did? I can't remember for sure, but I though they did.

ignitor or bad ecu or bad wires according to the shop. More to come soon.
Turned out to be a bad ECU. Apparently, on his 1993 Civic EX, the ECU's dont go bad. So they dont make them anymore. So... the shop charged him 600 bucks for analysis of the problem, a used ECU, and installation.
What a ripoff.
i saw a civic just like that last week, same problem, it stumped the mechanics bigtime.
