    Help QUICK!

My friends 93 civic EX died while he was driving down the road. It started struggling, and then the car just kept like restarting itself, then just died. Belts and battery are fine. What gives?

Didn't those Civics have the same ignition problem with the distributors that the 4th gen Accords did? I can't remember for sure, but I though they did.

Turned out to be a bad ECU. Apparently, on his 1993 Civic EX, the ECU's dont go bad. So they dont make them anymore. So... the shop charged him 600 bucks for analysis of the problem, a used ECU, and installation.

    What a ripoff.

    for a 93 civic

Engine A common problem on this vehicle is failure of the Distributor, and an occasional problem is failure of the the Oxygen Sensor. Failure of the Distributor may prevent the vehicle from starting. The cost to repair the Distributor is estimated at $484.00 for parts and $52.00 for labor. The cost to repair the Oxygen Sensor is estimated at $130.00 for parts and $33.00 for labor. All prices are estimates based on $65 per flat rate hour and do not include diagnostic time or any applicable sales tax.

i also read that they had the ECU problem but seems like i cant find out where the heck that info is.
