    can the pipes to my header go?

    i have a carb 89. i have bought a header awhile ago, i havent put it on because i cant get those two damn pipes that go from my exhaust man. to my intake. can i just cap them off? or just one of them, or both? what are they and what would happen if i do cap them both off?? thanks

    I capped both of them off. I know it's hard to remove them. That's why a dremel can be your best friend

    I will eventually remove the tubes b/c lately I removed all the vacuum lines and my cruise control and I don't need any emissions stuff on my car.

    Oh nothing happens when you cap them off. Just make sure you get metal patches welded over your header (for those two holes)

    Yeah no problem. I suggest before you install it you do what I did with the header. It makes it easier to bolt it onto the downpipe. Have the 2 nuts welded onto the header and have the one bolt welded on the header also. Makes it a lot easier so you don't have to try and fit a wrench up there. I hope you get what I'm trying to explain. I wish I would have taken pics.
