    Leather Seats

    Hey All!

Has anyone ever purchased seat covers from here before? http://www.leatherseats.com They have a bunch of colors, AND they come in two-toned versions too. Also available is custom embroidery on the seatbacks. How awesome is that?!?!? I want to get two tone grey leather for the 1986 LX-i that I hope to eventually get from my co-worker, just for cleaning out her backyard!!! Just thought y'all'd be interested.

Wow those look really nice. I would consider them if I wasn't already buying racing seats.

one of my 88 lx's is up for parts. good engine and transmission. pretty much everything is there. the fenders and hood are bad but other than that it's pretty good.

it is spelt kat zkins so i thought that was the site. guess not. i ordered those neoprene seat covers and they never came in but im kind of glad because that was 400 and for 700 i could have a whole new leather interior. but before that i need rims. anyone with some suggestions for a 17 inch rim on a black 5th gen coupe?

I don't let people smoke in my car. I would suggest 14" SI rims I need to get some tires. Daddy need Pirelli's to look mean of 14's. I was thinking about getting some nice Yokohama's. For all four mounted and balanced would be like $280 for Yoko's.

those things are nice but a full reupholstery at a local shop would probably be a LOT cheaper for similar quality

edit: and that would include labor

Its www.katzkin.com They are good quality and fairly cheap. This is what I had put in my car. They arent just slide over seat covers they actually replace your stock fabric.

The seats from LeatherSeats.com and KatZkin.com are mostly vinyl. At most, the insert (the strip of interior in the center of the seat that's usually the different color in 2-tone applications) is leather but that's it. They are made in the factory style which uses leather inserts and a leather look/feel vinyl product for the surrounds. My father in law has/is teaching me the art of upholstery and every "Leather" seat I tear down is made in this same fashion. KatZkins tells you their installed price is cheaper than most cloth seats and they're right. That's mainly because the leather knockoff material that they use in the majority of the seat is much cheaper than automobile grade cloth. I'm not saying that the Knockoff leather isn't good...it's GREAT. We call it "Mellowhide" and you seriously cannot tell the difference. So much in fact that the whole seat can be done and no one will be the wiser.

BTW...their prices suck too. I know my father in law could beat their prices anyday. The whole seat would be done in the "Mellowhide" but why would you want leather when you get the closest thing you can without all the hassles of specialty cleaners and stains or whatever. This is vinyl so there is very little to stain it and it can be washed with just about any household cleaner and won't damage the integrity.

Just FYI guys.....don't want you guys to get taken for a ride on something you think is all leather and is not.

Leather seats.com doesnt sell the covers for the 3gee anymore. because of loss of interest, they werent selling enough covers and it would cost you 875 american for the whole car. Not worth it!
