    Unhappy Damn these vacuum hoses!!

I am in the process of removing the carb from the engine (to rebuild it), and I am having vacuum hoses crack and snap in my hands trying to remove them!!!

Any suggestions on getting these hardened & brittle hoses off while keeping my knuckles (gonna replace the hoses, but they are just a #%@ to get off). Please help!!

Needle nose pliers and a small flat head screw driver I found works great. To kinda pry it off the stem.

Place your thumbs nails around the nipple of where the vaccume hose connects to and push the hose off w/ your thumb nails works great for me and no I don't have long nails. Just becareful not to push too hard since you want to save your knucles just give it some time and poof they creak and slip right off.

Or you can play it safe and keep your knuckles by using a screw driver like I said.

    Hoses

5/32 Vacum hose from any auto parts store. I needed about 20 feet.

While rebuilding my carb, I replaced EVERY hose I could find. It was a long process but it made taking the old hoses easy. You can just slice them right off.

15 feet of hose cost me around 6 bucks. Cheap and easy.

    Just my $.2

    Cheers,

    Bob

Got 5 feet at the store today, if it's not enough I will just head on back (they probably miss me anyways after a few days). Taking a long time, but then I have to work after I get home from the office.
