i have a question.. which has been answered but i dont know the name of the thread..
    sorry guys..
what makes the 88-89 EFI model have more hp than the 86-87 i know its the pistons and header.. what else?
i mean if theres anyway that i can just swap those selected parts over to get that much hp?
    from 110-125ish???

    Fuel Injection

edit: Whoops thought you had carb. I don't think the headers are different though. Yeah if you just change the parts over that should bring you up to that hp.

    I have MSN [email protected]
I don't know too much about FI cars since I have my carbed 3G. I have to go take a test at this college soon so I won't be home for too long.

wikked.... I'm no expert on EFI 3G's either b/c I don't have any, but I think it's the combination of diff. header, and the pistons are a higher compression piston. I'm pretty sure the ECU is different as well, which might also account for the increased hp. After that, I'm just as clueless as you and Mike.

4-2-1 header as opposed to 4-1 header (better lower end torque), dual stage intake manifold (shorter intake runners that open at high RPM, give better high-end torque and thus more HP), and 9.3:1 compression as opposed to 8.8:1. I don't know what effect the ECU has, except it probably lets more fuel flow at higher RPMs due to the faster air from the short runners.

    4-2-1 exhaust manifold, not header
