    Unhappy Carb and wheel alignment

I need some information...I have a 88 honda accord lx. My idle goes from 2000 rpms dam near past 3000. When I tap the gas, it still stays at 3000 then drop to 2500 and then back to 3000 at times. My mechanic told me that the idle should be around 1800 and 2000. He said that I might need a new carb put in my car. Also, when I put my car into drive, I get this bump and then the car goes 20mph without me putting my foot on the gas and I have to mash the brake pedal dam near to the floor for the car to stop. What could be causing this?? Also, my alignment is all out of whack. I took my car to get it aligned and they aligned the rear wheels and the driver side wheel. They told me that they could not align the passenger side, because I need a new spindle. I called AutoZone and they told me my car does not carry spindles...my car goes to the right now. when I first bought this car, my alignment was good...now I don't know what the hell is going on...Please help me...I know you guys know your shit when it comes to hondas...you had helped me before...

    Thanks,

Vacuum leak to the idle diaphragm maybe.

This is a front/right side view of the carb... the idle diaphragm is on the left side of the carb... remove the air cleaner and check all the vaccum lines on the left side near or connected to the diaphragm itself... don't limit your search for a vacuum leak however to that small area... if it's a manifold vacuum leak it could be elsewhere.

Was the car in an accident? The spindle can't be bent from normal driving i think.

I would take the car to another place to get it aligned. Some of those shops are notorious for saying they cant align this or that because you need a new part. Most people will then have them replace the part, making them more money (they hardly make anything on the alignment itself)

Make sure your throttle cable is not binding.
