Best mounting location for Purple Horny

Well, as of now i just have my Purple Horny on the back of my stock exhaust. (For those of you wondering, a Purple Horney is just like a Cherry Bomb but the little bumps on the inside spiral. It's just a cheap muffler from Knechts for like $20.) I took my mufler off and the PH is just sitting over the pipe and hangin with a cheapo exhuast hanger, not welded or clamped on or nothin. It's actually on the fairly snug but I want to clean it up a bit and make it look nicer and sound better. I am mainly looking for sound more than performance because I still have the stock exhaust manifold and cat. At first I was thinkin just cut off the resonator and go 2.25in back to the PH and have it on the end with a cheap tip on it. But I was told that it would be better, as far as sound is concerned, to put the PH right after the cat and then go 2.25in all the way out. The PH is 2.25in in and out. I am jus curious what would sound better, having it on the end or right after the cat? All I am really looking for is kind of a low growl. I know with the resonator off it will be a bit louder than it is now, but how much will the placement of the PH affect the sound? Just curious what you guys think.

Thanks in advance for any and all info.

I've always heard to place it after the cat, but I've never owned one, nor will I. I think straight pipe sticking out the rear will be ghey anyway regardless.

Will it be loud through the entire RPM range? From idle to 5k? If it's only gonna be screamin above like 3k or so, it's not too big of a deal. But yeah, if it's gonna be screamin at idle, maybe I'll reconsider. Does the resonator really quiet it down that much? As of now the PH is just mounted right at the end and it isn't too bad, just a low grumble which I want. I am keeping the stock exhaust manifold and cat, so that should restrict a little noise as well right? Give me your opinions.

put it at the end of the stock pipe. leave the resonator on and it will sound ok.. real raspy, and crackly... get a nice 3.5 inch stainless tip welded on the end and get it welded on and hung at a muffler shop... it will cost like 15 bucks plus the cost of the tip

putting pipe after the muffler will make it have a deeper tone, kind of like longer ports on a subwoofer box
