why are you worried about gas miliage... getting dual weber sidedrafts is for performance... gas milage is totally secondary... considering you'll probably be pushing the gas a lot more/harder once the carbs are on anyways...

How about this, You could always swap back to the stock carb/manifold. You really only need to keep 2 vacuum lines for the stock carb to run.

20 MPG? That's ridiculously low. The sidedrafts reduce gas mileage by 33%? I'm hard pressed to believe that...

I get like 24 in town and like 31 hwy. So I think I'm getting pretty decent gas mileage b/c I drive hard.

By what standards? By factory Honda standards. Our car averages 27-29 mpg city, and 31 highway. Even with my mods, I'm still averaging 28 mpg city. Like I said, it wont decrease mileage by 33% unless you race at every stoplight you come across, and drop gear all the time.

i thought that for sidedrafts 20mpg sounded good. i always imagined them being in the teens. i don't know what mods you have on your car but i would guess they are mainly mods that would improve gas mileage like more people have. the possibility of 25mpg sounds great with DCOEs.

I found that mods don't decrease performance. I can get up to 36mpg Highway whereas i used to get about 31-32 mpg. What i've found, and what has been greatly discussed is that once you put on mods, you drive harder thereby reducing your fuel economy.

I actually found out with all the mods I have done to the car the mpg has increased. I used to only get like 16-18 city when it was stock now I get like 20+. I was suprised that the mpg hasn't suffered b/c of all of the racing parts I have on the car.

that's what i was talking about. most of the mods people do that involve the basic breathing of the car like less restricting in the movement of air (intake/exhaust) always improve gas mileage. it's not until you get into the drastic upgrades like DCOEs that are dunping a ton of gas into the engine that your mileage will go down.

Those numbers were with the old 40mm carbs. With the 45s I can watch the needle drop. I can fill the thing up and take it out for an afternoon of fun and have to fill it up when I get home. The car also has a cam in it which isnt helping the milage much either. You can't have power and economy. Thats why I bought a turbo diesel jetta. 50mpg on the highway and 550+ miles on one tank. I commute 100 miles a day. With the accord I was lucky if I was filling up every other day, the jetta gets filled up once a week. Both cost me about $22 to fill. The thing saves me almost enough in gas to make my car payment every month.

A tank full of gas lasts me roughly about 3-4 days. That's with a 22km drive each way at roughly 100kph. I'm cool with the performance....anything above 100 and you can really see the gas go, especially once the needle crosses cross the halfway mark

Damn, I pump like once a week, and I'll go pretty conservatively. I'll usually have 3-4 gallons left at the end of the week.
