i just bought a totalled 1989 accord dx sedan for the engine and tranny (the rest will be parted out later) but when i came home i noticed that my 88 accord lx has something on the engine that this one doesn't. what component is found under the power steering pump? it may just be my imagination but i remember the engine bay being more open in that area since i could see the bent frame.
i think you are talking about AC pump.

that's what i figured. do the dx accords have ac?
one of my 88 lx's is up for parts. good engine and transmission. pretty much everything is there. the fenders and hood are bad but other than that it's pretty good.

any idea what i have to do to take it off of my lx motor and put it on the dx motor? i don't even like a/c but it's good with the defroster and such.
