    annoying issue about the site

I dunno if it's just me but whenever a page is loading I can't just read something while it loads because the page jumps around and resizes about 15 times before it's done. Can I fix this from where I am at?

It's because when there's a picture, before it loads, there's a little 1/2" by 1/2" box on the screen, and then as the page loads the pics, the images take on their real size, causing the resize to not work properly (because it acts as soon as the page is changed, not when the pics are done loading).

Yeah I get that too. I thought it was just b/c the computer was slow. Well I suppose that has something to do with it.

It's not based on the computer speed. I guess you could blame it on internet speed, because I'm sure a T3 or something would help load the images 1028371082x faster. But we use 2.0GHz's at school, and I've got a 1.8GHz at home, and it does the same with me lol.

    It's probably memory/internet speed related.

No...seriously, it's internet speed related. There's no way to get around it. I've got 512Mb 2700 here, and at school we've got 512Mb RD, and it's the same. It's internet, no way to fix it, just move on...

It's also the software you're using... some software compresses the images so they appear quicker (AOL for example) while some dont. It can be many things, but its all chained from internet speed.

but can't you tell internet explorer not to resize but just leave it like it used to, a constant szxe with little empty boxes until they load??

I don't think so, but I know you can choose not to show sig.s so that might cure some of the problem.

Theres a box under tools->internet options on the advanced settings tab called show image download place holders. It should help a little bit. Instead of a little box with a red x in it you'll have boxes the same size as the images with red x's in them untill the images load. It will still resize a bit while it calculates the sizes of all the images, but its alot faster then a download over a modem.

Click Tools> Internet Options> Advanced> and uncheck the box that says Enable Automatic Image Resizing. You can also check Show Image Placeholders.

This should help a little, but no miracles.
