    Coilovers and Shocks

Ok, to start i have read the "importants" as well as done some search's unfortunatly i could not find exactly the answer im looking for. First: what mods need to be done to run "90-97" coilovers, or do they just bolt in?

Second: i also see that some of you are running adjustbale koni's but i have searched hi and low cross refed part # and can't come up with ones for the 3rd gen? either a part number or how you had to mod them ect... would be great.

    Thanx in advance.

Congrats dude for doing that before you post. www.shox.com has the ones for our cars. You will need a camber kit or prelude arms and ball joints.

Are you sure coilovers are the right thing for you to buy? Why wouldn't a set of springs meet your needs?

To answer your question, they just bolt on. BUT,........be very carefull, do everything you can to find out their spring rates. Avoid one's that are stiffer than the ground-control coilovers (350lbs front 250lbs rear).

When used on coilovers set their rebound adjustment to maximum.

thank you for your quick replies.

The reason i would like coil overs vs straight lowering springs is that i do some tsd rallying, and some of the courses are very ruff and have deep ruts where i need all of the ground clearence i can get, but the majority of the time im on the street where i would prefer it to be lower.

As for the shocks those were the part #'s that i had found but from my understanding or at least the way that it was convayed to me is that those one were non adjustable? is this the case? or
are they adjustable and the parts people just didnt have a clue?

Also i was looking at the "important" and i see that the two coilovers for 86-89 are listed with spring rate %'s but none of the '90-'97 ones are, if anybody has any more info on any of the other ones listed that would be a huge help. thanks again for all of the info recieved thus far.

What struts are you running with those? Stock struts with such stiff springs will give you a bouncy, unsettled ride. Those springs may even be too stiff for Konis to dampen.
