Guys,
I see these guys listing "Removed Cruise Control" as a performance mod. What the hell does that do? Is there any more power or are they just running out of things to list?

most likely, if it says to remove cruise control that means it won't work after the mod.
Alex.
thats very true. I mean, if you went turbo say goodbye to reliable cruise control operation. I ditched mine because it stopped working and i dont use it anyways

i think you are missing one point. he went with weber, which means he can't use cruise control anymore, so why would he keep it under the hood. i diched mine after i removed all the vacuum lines.
cruise control works on a vacuum. but if you remove all the vacuum lines what is the point to have it. it is just takes up space and weight.
Alex.
Where is exactely the cruse control at. I'm planning on putting on a turbo and if the cruse won't work any more it is just dead weight and taking up space.

I guess he is just trying to let u know what he did to his car! He must be pushing 125hp...

It's the cable actuator and vacuum tank above the motor mount on the belt side of the engine. It's really not that much weight, but if it's not working, the free space would make other jobs somewhat easier.Originally posted by Justin86

ok i know i can remove most of it no sweat. but where does that cable end up that goes into the firewall? i dont want the cable hanging around in the engine bay if the rest of CC is gone. and i really am hesitant to just "cut" it...
so whats the trick? i want to get rid of my POS cruise contril, i never use it and it doesnt work with my steerting wheel!![]()
the cable connects to the accel. pedal.
it is very easy to remove.
Alex.
sweet. bye bye CC!thanks shepard!
Hey thanks guys I will have to pop my hood and take out that POS.![]()

ok guys here a question my cc was working but not now how can i fix it LOL
the cruise doesn't connect to the carb, it conects to a special linkage on the gas pedal arm. it doesn't care what kind of carb you have. you have to have the cruise pedals it won't connect to a standard assembly.Originally Posted by shepherd79
everyone is pulling them out and i have a long term project putting that system in my dx. i thought the cruise was kinda cool. just don't try this project at home. if i ever get the time i will finally put in the pedals and hook up the cable. rest is good to go. even with modifing my seat to go back more my knees still bend at a wierd angle when i have my foot on the gas, so i'm looking forward to finishing that up for long trips. want to see my racing pedal assembly i made in my car not on my bench.Originally Posted by Justin86
i just want mine to work again was so nice on the long trips up north
get the chiltons book no. 6980 73-88 honda it will give you the entire diagnostic for the cruise system. really good pictures too. oh you might want to get a hand vaccume pump and gauge not just for this but for a lot of diagnostics in that book.
thx ill have to check that out
for everyones info when you put on a webber there is no need to remove the cruise control, it doesn't attach in any way to the carb, all it does is move your gas pedal just like you would move it with your foot. it has a cale that attaches to a special arm on the cruise pedal assembly the cable goes straight to the firewall.
does a webber make a dif in proformance ???? and how much of a dif !!!!!!
there are about a thousand posts on that around here this is a thread on cruise control i think you can look under search for the webber
