what kind trany do you have?
i am sure it will cost around $1000- 1500 if you take it to s shop.
if you do it yourself around 250-500 depends on trany price.

torque converter seal between torque converter (duh) and engine... Who knows where is it leaking out of, between the engine and tranny? It could be a $20 seal

Since you said motor oil, I'm gonna assume you have a manual trans. It could just be your axle shaft seals like AccordEpicenter said. Can you see where it's leaking from?

i look up under the car and its soaked in between the transmission plus i have a bad transmission mount i gotta replace i heard its like 40 bucks for a new one

the price depends on wherre it's leaking from. If it's the input shaft seal (probably) it's a cheap seal but expensive labor, like $200 I'd estimate. If it's on the side it could be a simple gasket and a few hand wrenches. Once mine was leaking from a loosse bolt on the valve body.

well u don't need new transmission, unless you gear are messed up. get some engine degresser spray it everywhere under the car, hose it down. now it should be clean n shit, drive around and check under the car where the leak coming from. hopefully it's axle shaft seals, if it's your rear main seal, i guess you will need to drop that tranny and replace that seal...

cover your alternator before cleaning and try to avoid high pressure cleaning on electrical connectors

I agree with accordepicenter ,i'd say it was input shaft/convertor seal is leaking especially if it looks like its leaking out from bottom of bellhousing unless it looks noticable that its coming from axle seals

find a reputable shop..they should be straight shooters and not rip you off. But honestly...dropping the tranny and replacing the seals with a Hayne's manual is easy, and even a first timer can drop it replace the seals with an extra set of hands in a day, I did, and i've never touched a FWD tranny before. While you have it out, replace all the seals, they'll cost you about $50 for all of them. If you're on a budget and want to fix up a 3g, you better learn how to turn your own wrenches.

i had a problem with my 89 LXi in the past when it was so low it scrapped the tranny bottom so bad and crack the casing, lol...

XXFearThisXX - cover your distrubtor, alternator, and pretty much the electroic wires. here some sample pic when i clean my friend 87 RS.

here my friend engine, super dirty!!!

disconnect you battery, cover up the distrubtor, spray engine degresser, let it sit for 15 min, then hose it down!

start up the engine, let it run with the hood close for 10 min, wa la! open it up and this what u will see, super clean engine bay!

here a pic of my engine bay, fair ez...

    question? PM...

bring car and floor jack to car wash. jack up front of car and spray only bottom area with engine/trans running try not to shoot up spray to top of bay. Just be safe. If you do happen to spray engine wires and engine dies out wait till it all drys out 3-4 hours then try to start, then watch where fresh oil is leaking from on some test runs
