    Angry Bleepingtruck Rattles!

I just installed a sub and amp in my friends 89 sedan and the damn thing vibrates like their aint no tommorrow, in fact its so loud you cant here the bass! ITs pissin us off so bad so we wnet out and bought dynamat and did the trunk lid, but it only slightly helped. So is there any suggestions you guys have like beatin the *^&% out of the car with a bat, well maybe not that but, like where to put the Dynomat or something? Never done a car like his before so Im stumped. Any help be great, thanks in advance.

use expanding spray foam like greatstuff. Fill in the entire trunk lid with the stuff, just dont drip it on ANYTHING it wont come out, but man does it work wonders. I had 6 cans of spay foam in my car and with my 1.25 KW system it rattled a hella lot less than my friends cavalier with around the same power even tho he had dynamat extreme (cost him almost $100). Lol then HE got sprayfoam...

Ok well try it, we already bought like 140 bucks worth of dynamat so we gotta use it all up first but after that well try spray foam. Thanks.

Curious, how much Dynamat did $140 get you? How many mils thick?

i have the same problem too. my system rattle's quite a bit
but mine's caused by the exhaust system rattling when the sub is on. i don't think dynomat or the sprayfoam stuff would help in that case right?

The dynomat (or substitute... I personally do NOT recommend dynomat because it is so expensive... you can get the exact same [almost] product for WAYYYY cheaper) would help some, because it blocks some noise entering your car.

Sprayfoam is more for eliminating rattles, sound deadening mats, like dynomat, are more for reducing road noise.

yeah pretty much, but they also reduce resonationin the vehicle thus increasing DB levels and SQ.

As for the exhaust put some rubber bushing or rubber strips where its mounted at that should help some. Or even put dynomat or equivalent on it. But use Extreeme or high temp stuff otherwise "fire".
