    Question Cold Air

is there an aftermarket cold air for the factory lxi motor and if there isnt what size pipe should i use and where should it end

would a short air intake work better for space purposes
can i loan you some mileage, i got enough to go around

YOu can buy a drop in K&N fliter to replace the stock one... or you can buy a short ram intake... but you won't have the cold air...

If you make your own intake use 3" pipe and either have an exhaust shop bend the pipe for you or buy 90* and 45* angled pipe and a few straight peices and connect them with rubber connectors... most of the materials are found at hardware stores.

Check the how-to section. There is a great link on how to make your own cold air intake. It lists all the parts needed and everything.

The only difference is the part number for the piping is 81ZX3035N

I just made one recently and in works great. The grey thing in the middle of the piping is a bypass valve(optional).

Top pic shows the 4 pieces used for the intake.

Bottom left shows intake in place with bumper off.

Bottom right shows finished product with battery relocated slightly in order for the intake to fit.

If you make your own I would suggest using 2.5" piping instead of the 3", you will get better air flow that way.

Weapon*R makes short rams, not CAIs. Is your filter under your hood??

I had a feeling it was a Weapon Sucks intake.....We need to voice our dislike for companies like aem, etc.....for any making perfor parts for our cars...Yet they sell parts for 89 Civics Go figure!!!

ill just make my own, my wifes cousin builds racing chasis and i dont think it would be very hard to bend a piece stainless to fit under the hood. he probly has the pipe to. it would be the cheapest intake ever, $20, for the filter....lol

we need to take all of the make it your selfers, get some grip and make a company that creates nothing but performance equipment for third generation hondas, excluding the civic, because we all know its played out, and the third gen looks like ass anyways :super:
