    distributer cap !???

    i totally forgot about this but now i want to get right !
    anyway !
    i have an A20A2 engine with teh cap shown below ! when i ordered OEM wires from Majestic one of the wires didn't fit in! i checked teh part number and it 's right !
    so i remembered then that i have a different distributer cap !

    anyway whn i checked both caps i found out the they will both bolt on ! but will thecap you guys use work on min e !??

    i have a TEC distributer , carbed , manual !

    I had the same problem with too shorter (new)wires for the straight prong cap. I ended up replacing my original dist with one from junkyard but with angled prongs.
    I think u may use the angled prong cap on ur dist but.. there is a 90* diff between marking, like:
    Wire No 1 goes to II
    Wire No 3 goes to I
    Wire No 4 goes to III
    Wire No 2 goes to IIII
    Hmm.. not sure, check urself again!

    i think you are right ! there is a 90* shift !
    well can i change the firing order ( to correct it ) in the new cap !?
    are they identical from inside ?

    1. Well that's required! I mean the angle of the prongs with respect to the flat side.
    2. With 1st cyl @ TDC, the dist tongue (rotor) points to ~ 1 o'clock on ur car and should touch a prong on both caps. That's the prong where u insert #1 wire. Then follow the firing order 1,3,4,2 as the tongue rotates clockwise. :smokin:

    i can just look at the leads from inside on both caps ! and then do a matching in firing order right ?
