    ECU Chip??

Ok, My local performance burns chip for our cars!!! Its only like 150 bucks but what wood it adjust to increase power!! I already have a AFC to adjust fuel maps-But does chip adjust timing-It also adjusts redline to 7200-would that not be sorta useless w/o cams or internals???

our ecus dont control timing... it blows... i dont think you can do anything with the chip that you cant do with the afc... all you can do with the performance chip is mess around with your fuel stuff

What?? Well that really sux!! So the only thing that the chip wood do is change fuel maps and bump up redline?? Wont bumping up redline be sorta useless unless you have a cam?? Other than keeping moter in power band??

yeah you lose killa hp and tq numbers after 6k if you dont have a cam. I suppose you could disable the rev limiter but i think overreving this engine would be very bad, like it probably wouldnt survive if you pushed it well into 7k often... I think you should get a reground cam, everybody ive talked to says you can get pretty good gains from it, and they are pretty cheap...

chips, reprogramming ecu's = stupid = waste of time,.... to me!!

Just scrap the stock ECU's, stock ignition and go aftermarket computers, go direct fire ignition. More control, more tuning power.

Your just messing with a system that wasn't designed to be messed with.

i sincerely doubt youd see more than like a 5-10hp gain tops after HOURS of dyno tuning with just getting a chip or even changing to a stand alone computer or what have you. They really cant do much more for you than the AFC is doing for you... stick with that and put money into a cam or somthing, maybe an exaust.

I agree.....by themselves. When coupled with other upgrades its definitly worth it. Yeah id be nice to have an aftermarket computer but reporgramming is way cheaper.
