I pre-ordered one of those a couple nights ago. Thought I'd share. It can out-displace a similar sub that I saw launch quarters off an Explorers ROOF. For $200 less, too.

Now I just need to find something to power it with... I don't think my current ~150 watts are going to be enough to get it to really light up. I was leaning towards the Lanzar Opti 1000D... pretty cheap, but a strong solid build.

Anyone have suggestions, or offers, for an amp that'll put out ~1000 (give or take 200) watts at 1 ohm or 4 ohms?

Did you actually get the Brahma 10? Or did you get two... you did say BrahmaS. How is that working out for you?

I read a review on the E12A, the 12 inch version of the sub I'm getting, and the reviewer said it had better low-end excursion than his brahma, but the brahma was more transparent.

I'm planning on doing something special for my install of this one... I've got a boatload of plexi at my disposal, and I might try using fiberglass... either way, I'm planning on making it look very nice.

I'm not getting the Brahma till I get my accord. Doesnt make sense to put one in the Jag, Since I have a Spare JL W-6 to mess with.

BTW, as you already should know, whats the best way to wire up the DVC 6ohm w-6 to a Lanzar 1200D amp? since I'm running only one sub thus allows me to go down to 3ohm only. but I think that would be enuf power anways. What's your thoughts?

If you've only got the one, parallel is your best bet... better 3 ohms than 12... are you sure it's dual 6? That's really weird...

according to the spec sheet from JL, it's 6 ohms????????? I thought that goin 3ohms was the lowest i could go. I just thought I'd ask incase of there was a way to go lower by any chance.

If you were wiring two of them in Parallel it would be 1.5 Ohms i beleive ..I think that would be the only way to go lower

the sub only needs 350 watts RMS....

Well it all depends... if the sub is dual 6 ohm coils, then you can go with a 3 ohm mono, 6 ohm stereo, or 12 ohm mono set-up. If the sub is dual 3 ohm coils, which is what it sounds like, then you can go with a mono 1.5 ohm, stereo 3 ohm, or mono 6 ohm setups.

I believe your lanzar amp makes full power at 1 ohm, so if I were you I'd wire the coils in parallel (if they are dual 3, which, like I said, is what it sounds like) and be VERY conservative on the gains... like, all the way down almost. What kind of box are you putting the W6 in? That will greatly affect how much power it can handle....

The DVC is 6ohm. from what you just described, I can only go down to 3ohm. That's fine really, I'll just set the gain real low till I get the brahma

From what you've written, it appears like you think he has TWO subs EACH with a 6 ohm DVC set-up. That's not what I believe he has. I believe he has ONE sub with a 6 ohm DVC set-up.

With the DVC 6-ohm coils, if he ran them in parallel he would have a 3-ohm load. If he ran them in series he'd have a 12 ohm load. If he hooked each coil up to its own channel it would be 6 ohms a channel. I am 100% positive of this, it's fairly simple car audio basics.

Shops sell it for around $550, I got it for $235 shipped from the same company I am buying the sub from, in a strange bit of luck.
