i have an 89 Lxi ....when i go to put my cruise control on i'll hit the button the light will come on the guage for about 1 second before it goes back off...but nothing actually takes place as far as the gas pedal being automatically held down during that 1 second or anything.
I have the same problem on my 88 Si
It was doing this for some time, sometimes it would work for an hour, other times it would pop out after a second.
I have a feeling that it is a loose connection.
I also have recently had troubles with my combo switch (the one that controls the indicator and headlights) and the LED's in the AC/Heater working intermittantly.
I have read in the FAQ that there are instructions for repairing the LED's in the air-con, and i have had the combo fixed by an auto elec guy (I couldn't keep driving it with the headlights going on and off)
Has any one resoldered the connections in the cruise control switch? Are they easy enough to get too?
Any picks of what it should look like would be appreciated.
might want to check the switches on the brake and clutch pedals,(if you got a manual)
