Accord 87 idle speed goes the wrong way

Accord 87 carburetor / auto transaxle / too many miles
Came one month ago from Europe, bought this car. At cold start it goes to 1800 rpm, and then the idle speed goes wrong at 2000 rpm and more. Even after 10 min it stays at 2500rmp. Don't like to put it in Drive at these rpm, so I have to fix it, but I am not sure what's wrong. Something with the carb, or the cooling sensors... Daoes this model has a ECU, and if it has where should I read the blinking error codes ? Need some help guys
    Thanks.

Your's a carb no ecu to read error codes.
Maybe you just need to turn down the idle? Does it do it all the time?

It's doing it all the time, so I can not drive the car until I'll fix it. Don't wan to mess the transmission. I'll work on the idle, though.

    Welcome to our board.
There are several probs with throttle not closing to idle position.
    - throttle cable might be too tight or sticky..
    - the choke flap may not fully open, therefore the high idle cam never comes off..
    - one of the diaphragms (ur car may have Throttle Controller or A/T idle controller and/or A/C idle boost) could be faulty. Remove the air box (plug #8 line) and look from passenger side of the carb and see what is stopping the throttle, @ idle it should seat on idle adj screw.
    - if none of the above, try idle adj. screw as anchovies suggested.
Not a bad idea to dump a can of carb cleaner around the choke and throttle linkages.

I have some Shop Manual jpg files, so I will look through them and check all these you told me. Then I'll take down the air box, clean, check the the choke and whatever other controller I have there.
    Thanks

I got that manual pauldesign.ru/honda/shopmanual.html and it'a good, but dificult to print. I changed a #14 vacuum hose and this helped a little. However the fast idle unloader it's still going off too late, so I am waiting more than 6, 7 min with a 2500 rpm until it drops to 800rpm. The inside fitting of the unloader kicks off the idle speed, but what makes a vacuum at this fitting ?
I am a beginner at these things, but can somebody explain me the order of events of a cold engine start considering a 87 Accord, with carb and AT and AC ?
    Thanks

I think u might have a faulty choke heater.

Do a search with choke heater or opener or fast idle unloader.., there are quite a few threads about those.

Uh, EFI ppl would be upset with this thread here!
