    no brake response

ok so here is the deal, this is about my new car the 98 accord, i just got it not to long ago and i need to replace the pads, cause when i come to a stop at a light it grinds, so obviously i need to replace, but also i think the rotors need to be replaced also cause when im like 70 mph and tap the brake it shakes.

today i went out and got a new set of pads for my car, i jacked up the car took everything apart, and replaced the pads. Im only replacing the front, not the back. cause thats where i heard the grinding coming from. When i jacked up the other side of the car, i saw a fluid dripping from the car, and it looks like coolent, but i checked the fluids and it was full, also was the brake fluids. so i have no clue what it is?!!!!!!!

Anywyas, i replaced the pads, and i turned the car on and slipped it in reverse, i let it idle down the driveway and when i put my foot on the brakes, there is just a fast ticking noise, and no responce form the brakes. So i used the emergency brake to stop almsot half way into the street, now im straight fu*ked cause its sunday, and i cant get anybody. So this is my only hope for now.

can anybody help out or am i going to have to call a pathetic machanic thall charge me for everything?

    thx

    nick-

well i just jacked the car up and i found out that the driver side brakes were opposite of what they should be, so i switched them, and just pumped the brakes and they worked
