Cold Air Intake

Hey guys I'm working on my CAI and was lost on what to do with the two vacuum lines that hook up with the stock intake. I couldn't find anything about it in earlier post so.

i have written this write up 3+ times. search for my user name and "intake" its the second post. i see you must have searched hard.


"for an 86-87 LX-i u have 4 total hoses that need to be addressed.
other than the big tube off of the valve cover.
two that come from the mystery vaccum box, on the left side of the engine bay. and 2 for idle up and idle control valve on the other side of the engine bay.

for the hoses on the left, u can just drill holes in the intake tube, and use grommets, or at least electrical tape around the hoses, so the sharp metal doesnt affect it, and the hoses will stay in place.

for the other hoses. they should have been plugged into a small box that drew filtered air from the old air box. i simply took the small box off, and attached a breather filter to it. (9mm fitting) then those two hoses get all the filtered air they need. also i would reccomend a breather filter on the crankcase vent (i think thats what that is called) on the valve cover. i used the hose. and i have a little bit of oil in my intake because of it."

Yea I'm sorry that I never checked every thread on CAI, I just didn't really have the time. Well thanks for the info but I don't want to go through the troble of have to do all of that crap.

what about if you took the stock CAI on my accord and drilled a big ass hole at the bottom where it comes out the the fender weld and under the right fog light is? Would that hurt the engine cause I checked out that box and it olny had a very very small hole where it would catch the cold air... so I drilled it bigger and I like sound a little.

You can try it but I'm not sure if it would cause any problems. I don't thing it would.
Also I want to get a breather filter for my valve cover and need to know where I can get one.

I just would like to know where, if there is a place, to buy a cold ar intake for my 1988 Accord LXi. Please! Help!!!!!!!!

I custom fit a 90 integra intake 2.5 inch piping is best here are some pics

Weapon-R makes the CAI specifically for our cars, but you can always get a 90-93 Integra CAI or 94-95 Accord CAI from ebay for much cheaper that Weapon-R's.

Weapon R makes a short ram intake for our cars and it is in no way worth the money. If you want a short ram get a 92 civic one and cut about 3-4 inches off the filter end.

Short ram only? I thought that Weapon-R only made CAI for our cars. Well, I probably thought wrong then.

that box behind the fender is meant to keep the car quiet. If i remember correctly, there are a few different sources that the intake gets air. So making the hole bigger will only really help with the sound. I like the sound too! But nothing beats a true cold air!!
