    Question CV Joint change.

quick question, How easy is it to change a CV Joint, its the right one, is it better t just change the whole axle assembly? Or the whole tranny/axle stuff and all its goodies?
If it dont go fast or go boom then it just aint right.

It's not that difficult if u have a bench vise grip and another pair of hands. It's going to be time consuming to get it right when u put the new cv on.
It's definitely easier to get replacement axle

I'd just buy the Axle (That's what i did) and don't buy it from Auto Zone or Advanced Auto, Buy it from the Dealer.

is it teh outer or inner joint ? only inner are replaceble ! teh outer comes with the axle as a one assemly !
it's a bitch to put the new joint in ! there are 2 clips inside the joint that are impossible to get out , and the boot clamp ain't so easy to put on ! i know what i am taking about because i replaced the boots on the outer joint and i had to diassemble the whole axle !

hey MATT nice signature ! :lol !

The Mechanic that does all the work to my Car charged me $150 for the Passenger side Axle (Ordered from Honda Dealer) and $35 to install it and he told me to never buy an Axle from Advanced or Auto Zone because they rust.. SO!! I guess that explains why they have a Life Time warranty on them. :lol

Another problem I had with the autozone axels was that they gave out after 5 months of 20 miles per day driving. It was a pain in the a$$ to have 2 take off the outer and replace with an OEM. I demanded my money back even though their policy was for in-store credit and received it (the money),I guess 'cause i'm a girl?

Yeah I sure the hell wouldn't trust autozone or advanced auto, cuz everytime I needed to get something replaced, I'd alwayz have to send it back because either it was somewhat damaged in the 1st place or it just wasn't the right part, or size... I know it may cost a lil more for genuine parts from honda, but it sure beats having to bring the cv joints back to autozone or what not..,...

Hey scandalcat1 what up, Welcome to the board! ;-) Hope you enjoy this place as much as we do...LOL Lataz
I will alwayz drive my 3rd gen Accord, ya'll will neva c me driving a 4 door Ford.. lol
