    Ignition Switch??

    Ok, sometimes when I try to start my car. It turns over goes up to about 2k or whatever I stop turning the key and the idle just drops to 0. Everything is off except my deck. If i move the key a bit the warning lights come back on and I can start it fine. Also sometimes when I'm driving along I'll notice that the idle is 0 and the car is off. Everything is off except my deck. I have a feeling its the ignition switch but I don't know what any of the symptoms of it are. I have an 89 EFI btw. Any help is appreciated.

    check this

    If you can jiggle the key and get all your warning lights to come back on I would say its the switch.

    Yeah I can jiggle the key to get the warning lights to come back on. Is that a hard thing to replace? or is it relatively simple?

    I have the same thing happening. I was pulling up to a stop light once and the car just shut off. It was nice and quiet though...
