32 or 33 in the front and 35 in the back. (the fronts help with launches a little better.)
32 psi front and rear usually
47 psi front/38 psi rear for autocross
Mike
damn ! i am that low !
but the sticker says 28 with 5 people and 26 empty ????

so should i run on what the sticker tells me or not ?

Use the sticker as a starting point. Tire pressures can be set to taste. That is staying within the tires specs.Originally posted by ACCORD EX

I set mine at 36 front and 32 rear. I like a little less flex in the tire.
well if honda recommends a certain tire pressure for stock size tires dont you think you should run them at that?? most tires if not reinforced take a maximum air pressure of 35 psi. if you over inflate you will get uneven wear down the middle of the tread and under inflation will wear out both shoulders. correct air pressure will prolong the life of your tires as well. i have reinforced 205/50r16s and i run them at 32 psi, the max on them is 41 i think
What size of tire are you running? You may be running to much pressure for autocross. Their's a certain point where your driving the desire for stiffer sidewalls to far. Cause pressure's that high are likely to effect the tires contact patch during max cornering where you could have less contact and know what that means.Originally posted by 89LXi4dr

i used to run 28psi, now i am running 32psi. i am saving butt load of money on gas.
Alex.
32psi all around.

yeah i noticed the increase in gas milage when i went into the 30s... Its not bad for the tires unless you go over the reccomended values on the sidewall of the tire or you see the tire wearing funny, then you should use less pressure

shouldn't the stock settings be the best for Gas milage !

No, factory recomendations are always ride comfort driven.Originally posted by ACCORD EX

Higher pressure's= less rolling resistance= improved fuel economy. Pressure's to run are a matter of personel choice. If I remember I ran like 34psi front and 32psi rear, or something like that. Really you can run what you want up to the sidewall max as shown on your tires. But as I mentioned in my post above, you can get to high were it costs you grip while cornering.
i'll try running 30 ! 28 seems to too low for the front tires ! they look so low !

I have 205-60-14 Dunlop Sport A2s (I know it's a funny size, but my speedometer still reads high and my odometer is very close to perfect)Originally posted by Jims 86LXI HB

I started at about 45 psi front and 35 psi rear, as recommended for a front-drive setup. Since both the front and rear were rolling over past the tread a bit I upped the presure until I was using just the tread. I forgot to bring chalk last time so I'm not absolutely sure about those pressures yet. After a few runs at that pressure I was still scrubbing up the bit of tread that begins to curve around the sidewall, so I think those numbers are close at least.
Either way I'll find out next month hopefully (when I remember my chalk). I'll have the H&Rs and Konis installed by then also so whatever was right before (probably lower than what I was running) wouldn't be right next time.
My grid number last month was funny:

aren't CIVICs more suitable to autocross ?

Light cars with decent power tend to do very well at autocross. Civics do pretty well, but not great. Civics aren't in the same class as Accord though so their times are expected to be better and are modified using a different PAX factor. Theoretically the PAX factor makes it possible to compare drivers independent of car since each class has its own PAX factor.Originally posted by ACCORD EX

Driving skill still makes the biggest difference. This month the driver of a naturally aspirated stock Subura impreza got one of the best raw times, beating several heavily modified cars that were built for road racing.

i would imagine our accords to be decent because they're fairly tourquey, and i've always understood that speed isn't a huge factor in autocrossing. i hear it's a driver's race, like you said.

i have been thinking about the tire pressure for a long time. when i put 32psi, it looks like my tires are low on air. i usually run with about 35-38. do yalls look low in the front with 32psi?

i can't go to 35 ! it's too hot around here ! i 'll try 30's first !

its usually about 88 degrees F around here. i dont know if the smaller tires have anything to do with that also. they are 175 70 R13. i know with the 185 70s dont need soo much pressure when i had them on.

With stock tires I had 26PSI but the tread was really bad so I did that to get some better traction. With my 205/40/R17 I have 38PSI.
