it's more than likely the brushes on the alternator. They're probably getting worn, that's what happened to my car. It's better than the alternator taking a complete crap. It's at least warning you

Get your alt checked like said before. You might want to check your belt to make sure its not slipping.

When that was happening to me it was a short in my fog light wireing. If it's not a short then its most likely the brushes like Marc was saying. Start your car and disconnect the pos. terminal of the battery. That should tell you if it's the batt. or not.

this is really odd, b/c my car has been doing it for like the past month or two and nothing has happened. I had my alternator replaced about 5 months ago along with the battery. So there's no way it could be those, i hope. It just flickers everyonce in a while but usually does it sometimes when i heat bumps in the road and whatnot. Wish i knew what it was.

That was what happened to mine when the alternator went. It didnt die right away so i waited for it to go then i swapped in the brand new one since i already had one at home.

make sure the regulator plug is in all the way and also that the belt is not slipping. I dunno about shorts but usually that light only comes on for me if the plug is out, if the belt is off, or if the alternator beyond fucked :lol
