New Member and New 3rd Gen Owner
Let me get straight to the point. I just brought a 3rd Gen Accord yesterday (my dream car when i was 15...24 now...LOL) from my mother-in-law. The problem is I can't tell exactly what year it is and if it is the LX or DX. Im pretty sure its the LX cuz its not fuel injected and has all power (no sunroof). Could someone tell me how to tell the difference and how to tell exactly what year it is. Thanx in advance.
P.S. Love this site...helped me to decide to buy the car in the first place.
Welcome to 3Geez man, and I'm sure you're already pretty well aquainted with everything.
DX has the black bumpers and no power options came standard.
LX has body colored bumpers and came with power options.
LX-i is similar to the LX but has fuel injection.

My car has the black bumpers but has all power..mmmmm. Unless are you saying that the LX models from 86-87 came with the black bumpers and power options?

It says '86 on the dealer tag. But I know for a fact that that tag been on the car for 2yrs and the dealer is one of those "you get what you get" dealers. So I dont put much trust into their information. It could be an 86 tho.

Hey welcome to the board, sounds like a lx to me, but the bumpers are from a dx?
I have to apologize (LOL). The bumpers match the color of the car except on top the have the black plastic or rubber trim that continues all the way around the car. It is an LX. Now I really need to know what year it is. And thx to all that welcomed me.
yah its gonna be between a 86 and 87
